Elaine and Ian Hudson are anxious to adopt a child to make their family complete. But arriving at an orphanage, hundreds of miles from home full of neglected children, proves more of a challenge than anyone could have imagined.

They immediately fall in love with little Anastasia as she is called then. That Anastasia doesn’t return their affection and never smiles or makes eye contact they put down to her past. They are sure that all she needs is their love, care and understanding.

But the truth of the situation is much more complex. Anna has suffered neglect and abuse over the years and suffers from Reactive Attachment Disorder which throws her adoptive parents into a spin. Cathy steps in to help a family in crisis but what she faces could even test her skills.
