There are few territories apart from the Moon in which so many fierce battles between reality and fantasy happen. Lunatics, witches and werewolves live together in our imagination alongside lunar rocks, calendars, tides and technological feats, where a dozen lucky souls have seen their tracks become immortalised on its dusty surface. Our satellite fascinates us because it is really a reflection of ourselves. We can explain the gravity that bounds us to the moon, but we still can’t fully understand the fear and emotion which it stirs in us, and both these forces are equally powerful. In short, the Moon marks the rhythm of life on Earth, stabilizes its rotation axis and marks the tick tock of the biological clock. Therefore, there is nothing more incorrect than saying that we are going back to the Moon, because in reality it has always been here, linked to our history, our dreams and our achievements.
