The Wave This classic YA novel poses the question "Why did they let the horrors happen?" Based on a true situation in which a teacher attempts to answer that question by convincing his class to join a highly-disciplined group modeled on the principles of the Hilter Youth. "The Wave", as the group was called, had its own salute, chants, and special ways of acting as a unit. The teacher is surprised by his willing students, as the movement sweeps through the school. He's created a fascist society, which willingly gives up freedom for regimentation and blind obedience to their leader. With the increase of anti-government groups, cults, and individuals seeking their own brands of justice through violence, it's time to feature this book to a new "wave" of teens.
